SPECIAL SALE: MUM IS THE WORLD
Four days only, Saturday October 24 through Tuesday October 27, my most popular linocuts will be on sale 33% off. The products will be available for sale on this website, ending at midnight Tuesday. I am leaving for Peru on Wednesday morning, so if you make your purchase before midnight on Sunday, I can ship to you before I leave. If you purchase after that I will ship it to you upon my return from Peru.
The reason for the sale is because I need to visit my mother in Peru, and I need to fund the trip. Five months ago, my world was turned upside down when my mum was diagnosed with terminal lung cancer.
Over the past weeks, the cancer has aggressively spread to her liver and brain. The affliction of the pandemic has meant that accessing Peru in peak time has been difficult and couldn't fly to get to her.
Since learning of this news, I have been trying to find a way of reaching her - which has proven very difficult. I'm selling my linocuts in order to get to her and have quality time with her before the end of her life.
Patricia Bidi’s work explores her Peruvian background: dreams and traces of childhood memories; the sun, energy, and colourful festivals of her native country alongside her experience of living in London.
Bidi’s linocuts celebrate life’s seminal moments and new beginnings through her playful and poetic imagination, perpetually submerging the viewer within her own dynamic iconography, her own realm of storytelling.
